Oesjaar: A new album in November for Jannie du Toit
With ever changing music styles and trends it really takes a remarkable musician to stay relevant for nearly five decades. The Afrikaans music legend, Jannie du Toit is one of those artists, who has been able to do just that.
Jannie has focused on the music of Jacques Brel, Jules de Corte, Koos du Plessis and Lucas Maree for the past few years but decided that it was time to focus on his first love and passion, and to write and bring Afrikaans songs to the stage again. The result being a brand new album: Oesjaar, written and composed by Jannie.
The album was produced by the brilliant Clinton Zerf and will be launched on 13 November at the Atterbury Theatre. He will be accompanied by Susan Mouton (cello), Chanie Jonker (piano & accordion) and Theuns Botha (percussion).
